[He's sulky after the trial - or really, after the girls disappear. He's hanging around back near the lounge, like he's looking for rats to appear again.]

[ places ash does not want to go: the lounge. sadly, it’s one of the places stocking alcohol and he could really do with something after literally everything that has just happened.

He’s ignoring tall, blue and sulky though. His focus is definitely on fishing something with a bit of a burn to it out of the liquor cabinet first and foremost. ]

[Sighing, glancing at Ash as he comes through. He yelled at Ash during the trial, but he isn't really angry at Ash. Only at his attitude.]

We didn't kill any of you.

[voidbreaker]

[ there's a clinking sound as he sets a glass down on the side, followed by the snapping sound of him closing the cabinet. ]

What, are you wanting a pat on the back and a thank you?

[ he's like 45% anger, 45% attitude, 10% marshmallow. ]

No. I'd only expect a thank you if we'd saved her.

[Honestly, he just wants to clear the air here - if there's something to fight about, they should have it out now.]

We needed more than twenty minutes to do that.

[ he's not exactly happy that someone's gotta die here either. he pours a drink and takes a sip of it i'm amazed no one has called the dumb teen out on his drinking but it's probably the least of anyone's issues rn ]

[He doesn't give a shit if teens drink, frankly. But he's also not much of a drinker himself, so he's a little unsure.]

[ he gives him a long stare for a moment, before pouring out like a finger's worth of whiskey into another glass and sets it down in front of galo. ?enjoy. ]

Talk's cheap. If you can make it happen, then it's worth listening to.

[Taking a sip of whiskey, making a face, and spitting it back into the glass. Ew.]

I hear you. I don't expect anyone to believe I can do it until they see for themselves that I can.

So, pick a starting point and go. Do you wanna try and break out? Wanna find out more about the guy in charge? If things go down like they did last week, we've got until Thursday night.

[Rubbing his temples like this is giving him a headache.]

I still can't figure out how to break out, so - Master Blue, I guess. I'm really ticked at those animal chicks right now, but. Maybe they're just following the wrong person?

They probably have a reason for it. If they've got the motivation - self centered, or weirdly alturistic it doesn't matter - people'll follow some real assholes to the ends of the earth.

[ ash just frowns at his own drink, like it's going to share the secrets of the universe to him. ]

If we can find out more about who Master Blue is, maybe we'll figure out why they're so loyal to him.

Yeah. I know. Until about a week ago, I was the same way.

[Ash can have a little backstory, as a treat.]

So that's why I think there's a chance.

I wouldn't kick yourself too hard over it. I know a guy who's hurtling his slimey ass straight down the rabbit hole after the biggest asshole I can think of.

Won't know until you try. For what it's worth, they've all been reasonable when you talk to them.

Yeah. I mean, it's better to trust people then not trust them. Just sometimes you put your faith in the wrong guy and he goes and puts you in jail!

[Nodding, though. Ash. Managed to kind of get through to him.]

I'll tell you what I find out. Unless I succeed too fast and we're already free by the time I can tell you.

We'll see. If not, we go for what means the most people survive. You can get mad about it later.

...Yeah. And that's why I can't agree with what you're saying. The Gov would've said the same thing - that we have to go for what means the most people survive, even if that means sacrificing other people's lives.

Sorry, but I won't accept that way of thinking!

And if when you try to save one person and get four or five killed instead? You willing to deal with the aftermath of that shit, because it won’t be pretty.

I’ll deal with anything that happens. But what I won’t do is accept that an ending like that is the only thing that can happen.
