[Perfect because Nic has been kind of sort of avoiding Lio! (It's fine, he'll run into him later.) He was just coming down to the second floor to grab something from his room, but when he passes by Galo's room, a thought occurs to him, and after a quick trip to the library, he pokes his head in.]
Still alive? [Spoken, because he's got a book under his one remaining arm.]
[Nic does take a moment to stare at Galo, just take in the fact he's lying there, battered but alive. He'd really thought the guy was dead for a tick there. He sets the book down on the bed as he steps inside to free up his hand. A sign language book. Apparently being laid up in bed doesn't exempt you from practice. But he doesn't comment on it yet, because he's just freeing up his hand.]
Didn't think a normal could survive that much damage. I'm impressed. [What Nic might mean by calling Galo normal is unclear. The fact that he had to fingerspell most of this should speak to the depths of how much he prefers not to talk.]

Hi, Nic. Yeah, I'm alive.

[He's. Barely keeping up with the finger spelling, honestly.]
I can take a lot of damage.

Not what I meant.
[And he has to pause a moment to figure out a way to write in his notebook with one hand. Putting it on the table is the solution.]
People like me, Twilights, we're sturdier than people like you, Normals.
[There it is. The Nic Lore.]
